Why not just have single cubicles facing onto neutral areas, like corridors and cloakrooms, away from the food prep/canteen rooms? There are too many immature boys and girls in schools for that to work. They could tease each other, open each other's doors, etc. I can't imagine a girl in high school feeling comfortable going to the bathroom while boys are in there.
